We are preparing for our 2015 season and we invite you to participate with us this year! All you need is a 4WD or AWD vehicle, a valid Driver's License and a small registration fee. We have classes for all levels of drivers. Ice racing is fun, safe and a great way to enjoy your 4x4 during the winter months. If you'd rather watch, remember that spectators are always free! Our racing is unique and our one-of-a-kind style shouldn't be missed. Either way our site is filled with information, so check us out!
NEWS & UPDATES:
First Race of Season:
Right now we are waiting to measure the ice until right before the first race. At this point it is going to be difficult to have 12″ of ice, but we are hopeful for some consistently cold temperatures. We know everyone has to make plans and wants to know now, we’re all racers just like you, but the decision won’t be made until next week. We will let you know as soon as we find out. Thanks for your patience!
Welcome back ice racers! We hope we’ll be racing on the 27th, so here’s the plan:
We’ll be racing Studs and Cheaters on Saturday. Almost all of you are experienced drivers, so you know it will be a busy morning. All racers will need to pass Tech inspection, turn in their filled out waivers, Driver’s License and proof of insurance. Race fees are still $20 per driver per class and tech fees are $10 per vehicle. Over 60 drivers, please note the change this season, race fees are half price, so $10 per driver per class. PLEASE, plan for traffic and get to the lake as early as possible. Also, we are going to be testing a double elimination format the first Saturday. DO NOT LEAVE THE STAGING AREA UNTIL YOU HAVE LOST TWICE! You can let us know if you like or hate this format and we’ll review it at the next Our Gang Meeting. As always, help flagging is always appreciated and necessary! Also, if we are only allowing race vehicles on the ice, we mean it. All trailers, trucks and support vehicles must be in the parking lots.
Hello Bare Rubber racers! We hope we’ll be racing on the 28th, so here’s the plan:
Sundays are Bare Rubber racing only. It will be a very busy morning, so we urge you to leave early and try to beat ski traffic. Registration will be open from 7:30am to 9am. Get your tech inspection first, then head to Registration. Fill out your waiver and you will need to bring your Driver’s License, Proof of Insurance and CASH to pay your race fees. Entry fees are $20 per drier per class and Tech is $10 per vehicle (good for the season). If you want to bring your family or friends along, you can have one passenger or they can race too. You can have up to 2 men and 2 women drivers in each vehicle. After that, you can practice. Practice closes at 9am, no exceptions, so if you’re late, you’re out of luck. Driver’s Meeting starts at 9:30am. Please read our rule book BEFORE attending and e-mail us with any questions you have. Pro Street eligible drivers must have a helmet, we have some to rent on a first come, first served basis. We have a huge need for help flagging this season on Sundays – please volunteer. We really don’t want to have to cancel because we don’t have help.
Without volunteers – we don’t race. We need help setting up track, doing tech inspections, flagging and staging racers and cleaning up at the end of the day. We ask all of our racers to pitch in and help, if everyone picks up a piece of the load it goes a lot smoother for all involved and keeps your hard working Our Gang members from burning out. Thank you for all you do to help us make these races what they are! If you’re interested in getting more involved with Our Gang you can click the link above or talk to our President Rob van Westenberg at the first race.
We are seeking trophy sponsors for the 2015 season! If you or someone you know may be interested in sponsoring, you can shoot us an e-mail at email@example.com or give our President, Rob van Westenberg, a call at 720.320.2442 and we will follow up. We run 78 classes for about 300 different drivers every season, sponsorship support is vital to keeping ice racing going. Thank you for you help!
