Our Gang 4 Wheelers is an ice racing club whose volunteers have been holding ice races in Colorado for 39 years! You'll find us out on Georgetown Lake in the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Our season spans 6 weekends through January and February.

We are preparing for our 2015 season and we invite you to participate with us this year! All you need is a 4WD or AWD vehicle, a valid Driver's License and a small registration fee. We have classes for all levels of drivers. Ice racing is fun, safe and a great way to enjoy your 4x4 during the winter months. If you'd rather watch, remember that spectators are always free! Our racing is unique and our one-of-a-kind style shouldn't be missed. Either way our site is filled with information, so check us out!

NEWS & UPDATES:

Studs & Cheaters – Sat, Feb 7th

Welcome back ice racers! Registration and Tech open from 7:30am to 9am. If you have not been teched this season, please do so before going to the Registration trailer. Tech inspections are $10 per vehicle and are good for the whole season. Entry fees are $20 per driver per class. If you have not raced yet this season, you will also need to sign a waiver and show your Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance. If you have done all of that, just bring your cash to Registration, tell us your Tech number and we will have you pick your numbers. We are planning our big track day, so we will need to get started on time. The extended time to set up a big track may limit practice time as well. At the end of the day we do trophies at the Lucha Cantina in Georgetown and you can order food and drinks afterwards.

Bare Rubber – Sun, Feb 8th

Bare rubber is back! If you have done all of that, just bring your cash to Registration, tell us your Tech number and we will have you pick your staging numbers. We will open the ice as soon as tracks are set up and you can practice until we close the line at 9am. Please plan for ski traffic and show up early if you want to practice, after 9am no more time will be offered. The driver’s Meeting takes place at 9:30 and we start our races after. The Kid’s Race is also on the 8th, if you want more information on the Kid’s Race please see below. Awards for those placing in the top 5 of their class will be given out at the end of the day at the lake.

Kid’s Race – Sun, Feb 8th

The Kid’s Race returns on Sunday, February 8th. It is a fun event for kids under driving age, to take a lap around the track. Smaller children can sit on their parents’ laps and steer and more capable children can drive themselves with a parent in the passenger seat. For the 21st year in a row, Rich Mulvey will be providing trophies for each kid driver that they can pick up after the race along with some other donated goodies from Cake bakery in Georgetown.
Here’s some other answers to commonly asked questions:
#1 – Vehicles still need to be 4×4 or AWD.
#2 – We ask all kids to come to the Registration trailer to get a wristband the morning of the event.
#3 – It’s a free event, and we will have the option to donate to a charity that provides car seat education this year in lieu of an entry fee. We’ll have a donation bucket in staging.
#4 – We ask that parents volunteer to work the race. Please sign up with Lisa on Sunday.
#5 – Kid’s race will happen after Street Bare Rubber is over, usually around 1pm.

CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND – February, 28th & March 1st

Championship weekend will be a little different, so mark your calendars!
On Saturday, all bare rubber, studs and cheaters classes will run their final events. On Sunday, we will run the Cheater Invitational, Go for the Silver (Pro Street Studs), Go for the Bronze (Street Bare Rubber) and the Go for the Gold (Competition Studs). We’ll give you more information as the time gets closer. We hope you plan on joining us!

Championship Award Banquet

Our end of the season awards will be given out at our Championship Banquet. This year it will be on Saturday, March 21st at 3R Racing (3701 S. Kalamath Street Englewood, CO). You must purchase tickets in advance from the Registration Trailer or an Our Gang Meeting. The deadline to buy tickets is the last Our Gang Meeting, March 3rd. Tickets are $25 per person and include dinner and drinks. Dinner is a full dinner with chipotle chicken, sides and dessert and the open bar will have soda, wine and beer available. We’ll give out division point awards, Championship Race awards, thank our volunteers and sponsors and have a good time. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Volunteering At Races

Without volunteers – we don’t race.  We need help setting up track, doing tech inspections, flagging and staging racers and cleaning up at the end of the day.  We ask all of our racers to pitch in and help, if everyone picks up a piece of the load it goes a lot smoother for all involved and keeps your hard working Our Gang members from burning out.  Thank you for all you do to help us make these races what they are!  If you’re interested in getting more involved with Our Gang you can find more information by clicking here, or talk to an Our Gang Member at a race.

Sponsorships

We are seeking trophy sponsors for the 2015 season!  If you or someone you know may be interested in sponsoring, you can shoot us an e-mail at ourgangiceracing@gmail.com and we will follow up.  We run 78 classes for about 300 different drivers every season, sponsorship support is vital to keeping ice racing going.  Thank you for you help!  More information about sponsoring is available by clicking here.

Annual Meeting

Our Gang’s annual meeting has been set for Sunday, April 12th at 10am. This is the only meeting we can change rules and SOGs and where we have our Officer elections. We encourage all ice racers who are interested to come and participate. More information will be made available as we get closer to the start of the season.
