Our Gang 4 Wheelers is an ice racing club whose volunteers have been holding ice races in Colorado for 40 years! You'll find us out on Georgetown Lake in the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Our season spans 6 weekends through January and February.

Our 2016 season is here and we invite you to participate with us this year! All you need is a 4WD or AWD vehicle, a valid Driver's License and a small registration fee. We have classes for all levels of drivers. Ice racing is fun, safe and a great way to enjoy your 4x4 during the winter months. If you'd rather watch, remember that spectators are always free! Our racing is unique and our one-of-a-kind style shouldn't be missed. Either way our site is filled with information, so check us out!

NEWS & UPDATES:

Next Race: February 6th & 7th

We’ll be back in Georgetown for Studs and Cheaters on Saturday, February 6th and for Bare Rubber on Sunday, February 7th.  Both days Registration, Tech and Practice are open from 7:30am to 9am.  If you’ve registered already this season, you can head straight to the trailer and pay your fees – no additional paperwork needed.  If you haven’t been up yet; you’ll want to get your Tech Inspection when you first get to the lake, then you can head to the trailer with your completed tech inspection form, a completed Driver’s waiver, your cash, your Driver’s License and your proof of Insurance.  Tech Inspections are $10 per vehicle and are good for the season.  Race entry is $20 per driver per class, CASH ONLY PLEASE.  Once you have paid and registered, you can head out to practice.  We recommend getting to Georgetown earlier and planning for ski traffic, if you arrive after we close Registration you can only register if you have your Tech inspection and pay a late fee and you will not get to practice.  If we’ve already had the Driver’s Meeting, there is no more registration.

Survey

We’re out on the ice to race and have fun.  We tried double elimination brackets during the Studs races last weekend to see if it was a good way to get more racing in.  Studs drivers that raced on Saturday, January 16th – please take this quick survey about double elimination brackets and let us know how you feel.  Thanks!

Kid’s Race 2016 – February 14th

The 21st Annual Kid’s Race is coming up soon!  It will be Sunday, February 14th.  Any kids under legal driving age can participate.  Each kid will get a chance to take a lap on their own driving the course.  Most young kids sit on their parents laps and steer, while older, more able children can drive themselves with a parent or guardian in the passenger seat.  Each kid will get a trophy for completing their lap.  If you’d like to get your kids involved, there is no additional fee.  Vehicles still need to be 4×4 or AWD please.  We also need volunteers to help put the Kid’s Race on, if you can help please volunteer at the Registration Trailer Sunday morning; we need flaggers, help directing traffic and handing out awards.

Help Wanted

As a participant, these are your races.  As an all volunteer group this is a “we” effort and we can’t do this without everyone pitching in where they can.  We don’t expect everyone to do the work the Officers and Committee leaders do, but if you can pick up a piece of the work load you can help keep those who do volunteer to do those jobs from burning out.

Below are the areas we still need help this season, please email ourgangiceracing@gmail.com, call or text Jean at 303.908.5297 or talk to us at the next event if you are willing to help in any of these capacities:

We need a volunteer to take over our Sponsorship and Trophy duties.  This includes helping with securing sponsorships and providing follow up and ordering trophies.  Free race entry is available for those bringing in sponsors and/or discounted race entry is available for owning this job.

We need assistance with our promotion activities.  If you are willing to help post on social media and/or answer and work with media inquiries, we could use your help.

On Bare Rubber days, we have leaders who need HELPERS to help set up tracks or
to help help hand out paperwork and direct drivers or
to to help do tech inspections, if you are mechanically knowledgeable.
You will not be required to do this alone at all, just leaders where they need it.  We guarantee practice laps for anyone who helps out in the morning, so you won’t miss out.

Every race day we need help flagging, help lining up drivers and people willing to learn how to do a staging bracket.

Please sign up for your desired position online. You can change positions online until Thursday, January 7th. After that, any changes must be made at the lake.
